About Us
Central Oklahoma Ringers & Directors has worked throughout the years
to bring our members wonderful festivals, exciting events, new
information, nationally known clinicians, and much more.
In 1992, Central Oklahoma Ringers & Directors, better known as CORD,
was founded when Nancy Guziec invited a few handbell directors to
have lunch and talk about everything handbells. The group that she
asked to lunch started meeting on a regular basis, and they deemed
themselves the "Lunch Bunch."
In 1995, the "Lunch Bunch" decided to become a more formal
organization. They elected officers, began sponsoring events and
festivals, and started a bi-monthly newsletter. From those
humble beginnings has now risen an organization that has been the
model of other local handbell and handchime organizations around the
nation, and the model for Substitute Ringer Lists in other
communities.
In 2002, CORD went into cyberspace with the launch of
www.cordbells.org. This new technology meant that CORD would be
able to offer our members more complete, informative, and up-to-date
information around the clock. CORDs online site has been able to
grow over the years to feature learning events, an area for
exceptional links and resources, and even offering registration for
selected CORD festivals and events online. With more information
being added to this award-winning site, cordbells.org is
becoming and education and information superhighway for handbell
ringers and directors everywhere.
CORD
offers many features to members throughout the ringing and calendar

bylaws and the currently elected Board of
Directors. CORD does hold meetings several times a year to
discuss business, festivals/workshops, budget, and more. These
meetings are open to the public. If you would like to be more
